Medical Insurance

BigBand Networks offers a choice of EPO, PPO or HMO medical plans (plans vary based on employee location) through Blue Cross and Kaiser (Kaiser is CA only). Full-time employees and their dependents are eligible for coverage on the first of the month following their date of hire.

Dental Insurance

BigBand Networks offers a full dental plan through MetLife Dental that is available to employees and their dependents. Coverage starts on the first of the month following their date of hire.

VSP Vision Insurance

BigBand Networks offers a complete vision plan through Vision Service Plan (VSP). This plan is available to employees and their dependents. Coverage begins on the first of the month following their date of hire.

Domestic Partner Coverage

BigBand Networks offers full-time employees coverage of domestic partners as dependents for medical, dental and vision plans.

Flexible Spending

BigBand Networks offers a Flexible Spending (health care and dependent care) program to all employees who choose to participate.

401(k) Program

BigBand Networks offers a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan. Employees are eligible to enroll quarterly and after a 30 day waiting period.

Long-Term Disability Insurance

All employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week are covered for long-term disability at no cost to the employee. The benefit provides 66 2/3% of basic monthly earnings to a maximum benefit of $10,000 per month, reduced by deductible sources of income and disability earnings. Benefits begin after 90 days of disability.

Short-Term Disability Insurance

All employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week are covered for short-term disability at no cost to the employee. The benefit provides 66 2/3% of basic monthly earnings to a maximum benefit of $2,310 per week if the employee meets the definition of disability. This would be reduced by deductible sources of income and disability earnings. Short-term disability insurance benefits last for up to 12 weeks and begin after a 7 day elimination period.

Life & AD&D Insurance

BigBand Networks provides Life and AD&D (Accidental Death & Dismemberment) insurance to all employees. There is no cost to the employee for this coverage and all employees are eligible for coverage on the first of the month following their date of hire. The benefit provides 1-1/2 times an employees' annual salary to a maximum of 375K. All full-time employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week are covered.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

PTO will begin accruing on an employee's start date. Employees accrue 5 hours of PTO per pay period which equals 15 days per year. PTO may be used as sick, personal and vacation time. Once an employee reaches 3 years of continuous service, an additional day of PTO is accrued per year.

Holidays

BigBand Networks gives all full-time employees 9 paid holidays per year plus 2 additional floating holidays per year (employees starting with the company after July 1st receive only 1 floating holiday for that year). Floating holidays may be used at the employees' discretion (per manager approval) but may not be accrued from year to year.

Direct Deposit

Direct deposit is provided for all employees who choose to elect it.

Employee Assistance Program

BigBand Networks offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The EAP provides referrals and counseling for a variety of work and personal issues, and serves as a cornerstone of a sound work-family program. This is available for all employees at no cost.

Additional Benefits

Additional benefits vary depending on which location of employment, however, some of the additional BigBand Networks benefits include a credit union membership, fitness center membership and free drinks and snacks!
