BigBand Emphasizes Low Cost, Coverged Approaches To Cable IPTV At Cable Next-Gen Broadband Strategies Event

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Feb. 18, 2010 —BigBand Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: BBND), a leader in digital video networking, will discuss strategies for cable to deliver IP video to multiple platforms at Light Reading’s one-day conference on how cable aims to compete with its broadband rivals by testing and rolling out DOCSIS 3.0, wireless, and all-fiber technologies entitled, Cable Next-Gen Broadband Strategies: DOCSIS®, Wireless, Fiber & Beyond event, Feb. 25, 2010, in Denver, CO. 

BigBand’s John Holobinko, vice president of marketing will appear on the panel, Debate – Cable IPTV, to discuss how the cable industry will implement the delivery of IP video services. The session will review various IP video delivery approaches with a focus on the costs and architecture and pros and cons of each method. Mr. Holobinko will delve into specific technologies that are needed today to bridge the migration to full IP networks and the move to full unicast delivery. He will outline the importance of converged video delivery approaches that offer true convergence between different video applications, RF & IP transports, and end-user screens.
