BigBand Networks Switched Digital Video Passes More Than Fourteen Million Households

Fifth generation solution provides path to infinite capacity by optimizing network spectrum

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., June 2, 2008— BigBand Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: BBND today announced that its switched digital video solution has been deployed, or is being deployed, by six cable operators, across 26 systems. Over fourteen million households in North America will have access to BigBand’s switched digital video solution once these deployments have all been completed, offering viewers the potential to enjoy expanded choices of high definition and standard definition programming.

BigBand Networks has integrated, or in the process of integrating, its switched digital video solution in both Motorola and Cisco set-top box environments, the only vendor, the company believes, that has demonstrated such versatility. BigBand switched digital video has also been deployed across three conditional access systems and four electronic programming guide environments.
