Training

BigBand Networks offers a range of educational options from technology courses to product specific training designed to educate operators on configuration, operation and maintenance of BigBand Networks’ platforms. In addition, solution-based training is incorporated to simulate real-world environments, to ensure the knowledge base of operators is at its highest.

Programs are offered at BigBand Networks’ training centers located in Redwood City, California, Westborough, Massachusetts and Düsseldorf, Germany. In addition, training may be provided at an operator's location upon request.

Course Descriptions

BigBand BMR® Platform
This course comprises three days of classroom and lab instruction. Participants learn comprehensive configuration and operation of the versatile BigBand BMR (Broadband Multimedia-Service Router), how to best utilize multiple video service solutions on the platform, and trouble-shooting techniques. The course also provides perspective on networked deployments of the BMR and its interoperability with other network elements including BigBand Networks' encoding, decoding and edge modulation platforms.
BigBand FastFlow®
This two day course immerses students in use of the FastFlow broadband provisioning manager. Lectures and lab sessions train students to set up and administer FastFlow for DOCSIS, PacketCable and CableHome services to multiple subscriber devices. Topics include an overview of hardware and install procedures, interaction with CMTS, software operation and redundancy considerations, and introduction to the CudaView GUI and command line interface. Students configure system security, SNMP management, system configuration backup, and operator optional parameters.

Eligibility for BigBand Networks' training courses varies based on customer support agreements, but the company welcomes all inquiries.

BigBand Networks can also accommodate on-site training seminars customized for specific deployments. Please contact a BigBand representative for details.
